When the first Doxie mobile scanner launched at the MacWorld Expo in early 2010, the thing that made it instantly a unique scanner in terms of presentation was its ability to be "fun". A large part of this from a branding perspective was the introduction of the Doxie character-- an anthromorphized bipedal version of the scanner itself. This comic book was included in the box of every original Doxie for the first year as a way to introduce the company as one that was fun and "not your grandfather's stodgy old scanner", a Doxie scanner character that persists through the brand to this day, although with a much different look, as the scanner itself has changed.
