Palm Springs Pride 2022 "Say Gay" Illustration
Created in November of 2022 to celebrate the annual Palm Springs Pride Parade. The theme for the festivities was "Say Gay", and I created this illustration for Peepa's in downtown Palm Springs. It was meant to draw attention to the window of this retail store, as well as providing a highly visible and Instagrammable Pride background to help promote the business.
I used some retro 1970s inspired fonts in the pride flag colors over a fun word bubble saying "gay" in an endless loop, with the progress pride flag creating the overarching rainbow. The illustration also has the social media username @peepasps, which links to the store's Instagram, Facebook and Tik Tok accounts.
This illustration was also used to create a matching keychain that was a popular gift item in the store.
