The main Red Door Books logo

Front window and front door of the original Red Door Books in Saxapahaw. The store was located in a beautiful historic space that was the site of the original Saxapahaw General Store, back when Saxapahaw was a small mill town.

The Community Supported Bookstore Card used by the bookstore. Customers could load this card and used like a gift card, with special perks and discounts.

In addition to books, we had a large selection of books by local authors as well as arts and crafts by local artisans. Saxapahaw prides itself as being a tight-knit and highly creative community, so this "Made in SXPHW" branding became a big hit. We sold it on buttons and later on, other stores in Saxapahaw began using the mark in their stores to also showcase locally made products.

The Red Door Books held regular sales and promotions to entice people to become bookstore regulars. We used email marketing as well as social media marketing to stay involved in the community.
